An idiom is a group of words that have a different meaning than the individual words themselves. It is a phrase that does not always follow the rules of grammar. - The Idiom Connection

Directions: You will research a common America idiom and then share what you have learned with the class through our Google presentation. To get full credit follow the following directions:

  1. Go to the page of the idiom that you've been assigned to do. Put your name on the page. (5 points)
  2. Leave the idiom listed on the top of the page. (5 points)
  3. On the left put a picture of the idiom as if it were actually what the words say. (5 points)
  4. On the right put a picture of what the idiom means. (5 points)
  5. On the bottom tell the meaning of the idiom (5 points), what it's possible origin is (5 points), and then use it in a sentence (10 points).

This assignment is worth a total of 40 points.
  • 3 = 36 points or higher so if you miss even one component you cannot receive a 3
  • 2 = 28 - 35 points
  • 1 = less than 28 points
